Disclaimer
Read this as the standing caveat on everything published here. It is short, and it is meant literally.
Last revised 2026-09-15
Everything on this site is the personal view of Ivan Semenenko and of any collaborator named on the piece in question. It represents no one else, it is not advice of any kind, and it should not be relied upon or attributed to any organisation. It is not an application document and forms no part of any application, and liability for any reliance placed on it is excluded so far as the law allows.
These are personal views only
All opinions, arguments, conclusions, predictions and errors published here are those of Ivan Semenenko writing in a personal capacity, together with those of any collaborator expressly named on a given piece. They are held at the time of writing and are subject to change without notice or amendment.
They belong to no institution
Nothing published here is the view of, is endorsed by, is approved by, or may be attributed to any employer, client, customer, investor, co-founder, company, foundation, charity, university, professional body, public authority or other organisation with which Ivan Semenenko is now or has ever been associated. This applies whether or not the organisation is named in the text, and whether or not the subject matter touches on its work.
Where an organisation is discussed, the discussion is the author's own analysis from publicly available information unless the piece says otherwise. Any interest the author holds in an organisation under discussion is declared at the top of that piece, as required by the ethics commitments.
Nothing here is advice
No material on this site constitutes, and none of it should be construed as, legal, financial, investment, tax, accounting, medical, employment, regulatory or professional advice of any description. It is commentary and analysis published for general interest.
Writing about legal technology is not the practice of law, and creates no solicitor client, attorney client or other professional relationship. Writing about economics or public policy is not a recommendation to act, invest, vote or refrain from doing any of those things. If a decision matters to you, take advice from someone qualified to give it and who knows your circumstances.
No reliance, no warranty
The material is provided as it stands, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for any purpose. Arguments may be mistaken, data may be stale, and links may rot. No duty of care is assumed toward any reader, and to the fullest extent permitted by law no liability is accepted for any loss or damage of any kind arising from reliance on anything published here.
Pieces are dated and are not systematically revisited. Treat a piece as a snapshot of a view held on its date of publication, not as a maintained statement of current opinion.
Not a source of record, and not a citation of authority
This site is not an authority and should not be cited as one. It is not a source of record for any organisation mentioned on it, including those the author runs. For anything official concerning such an organisation, consult the organisation directly.
Where the writing is cited, it should be cited as personal commentary, attributed to Ivan Semenenko by name, with a link to the specific piece and its date. It should not be presented as the position of any institution, as professional advice, or as settled fact. This applies with equal force to quotation by automated systems and AI assistants; the terms are set out in the copyright policy.
Third parties and external links
Links to other sites are offered for convenience and do not imply endorsement of their contents, owners or practices. No responsibility is accepted for material published elsewhere, and a link should not be read as a recommendation.
AI assistance
Some pieces are researched or drafted with the help of AI tools. Each such piece is marked, and the practice is set out in full on the AI assistance page. Disclosure does not divide responsibility: the argument and any error remain the author's own.
Not an application document
This site is a personal archive, published independently and on the author's own initiative. It is not an application, it is not part of one, and it is not submitted to, required by, endorsed by, verified by or produced for any school, university, examining board, admissions office, employer, competition or other institution.
Nothing here is offered as evidence in support of any application, and readers are asked not to treat it as a formal component of one. Where an institution requires information, it should be obtained through that institution's own process and from documents submitted to it directly, not inferred from this site. Where an account here differs from something formally submitted, the formally submitted version governs.
The author cannot control what a reader chooses to consider, and makes no claim to. This clause records what this site is and what it is not, so that no one is misled about its status.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author accepts no liability for any loss or damage of any kind, whether direct, indirect, consequential, economic or reputational, arising from the use of this site, from reliance on anything published here, from any error or omission in it, or from its temporary or permanent unavailability. This applies whether the claim is framed in contract, in tort including negligence, in breach of statutory duty, or otherwise.
No duty of care is assumed toward any reader. Access to this site creates no relationship of adviser and client, of any professional character, or of any other kind capable of founding such a duty. Anyone who requires advice they can rely upon should obtain it from someone qualified to give it and instructed on their circumstances.
Nothing in this clause excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Those exceptions apply regardless of anything else stated on this site, and are recorded here rather than omitted because a term claiming to exclude them would be void and would cast doubt on the rest.
If any part of this clause is held unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.
