Ivan Semenenko operates onlyivan.com and is the data controller for the limited processing described below. Enquiries and requests go to contact@onlyivan.com.

This site sets no cookies for readers, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. The single exception is the private administration area used to publish writing, which sets one strictly necessary session cookie for the site owner when they sign in. It is never set for readers.

To know whether anything here is read, the site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, privacy preserving measurement provided by Vercel Inc., the site's hosting provider.

These record page views and page performance timings. They use no cookies, assign no persistent identifier, and build no profile of you. They do not track you across other websites. Vercel derives a temporary, non-reversible hash from request data in order to count a visit once, and that hash is discarded within twenty four hours. The result is aggregate counts: how many people read a page, roughly where in the world from, and how quickly the page loaded. None of it identifies you, and none of it can be traced back to you.

If you block analytics scripts, the site works exactly as it otherwise would. Nothing on this site is gated on measurement.

Vercel, as hosting provider, processes requests to serve pages and maintains short lived operational logs that may include IP address, user agent and the URL requested. These are used to deliver the site, to keep it available and to deal with abuse, and they are retained only briefly. This processing is necessary for the site to function at all and is common to essentially every website.

Email sent to the address above is received and stored in an ordinary mailbox. It is used to reply to you and for nothing else. It is not added to any list, and there is no newsletter. Correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful and is then deleted.

Your data is never sold, rented, brokered or exchanged. No advertising network, data broker, social media pixel or cross-site tracker runs on this site. No profile of you is built, and no automated decision is made about you.

Two providers necessarily process requests: Vercel Inc., which hosts and serves the site, and GitHub, Inc., which stores the source and the text of the writing. Typefaces are served from this site's own domain rather than from a font provider, so no request about you is made to a third party when a page loads. External links go to sites with their own policies, over which this one has no control.

Where data protection law applies to you, including the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability in respect of personal data held about you. In practice this site holds essentially none, so a request will usually be answered by confirming that there is nothing to disclose. Requests go to contact@onlyivan.com and are answered within one month. You may also complain to your national supervisory authority.

This site is not directed at children and knowingly collects no information from anyone.
